Japan is great for ‘people watching’. From ladies in kimono to people in the most extravagant outfits, in Japan you never know what you’ll see next. The train is my favourite place for people watching. I know I’m not supposed to, but when I see someone interesting I cannot resist taking a sneak photograph of them.

I call it ‘sneak photography’ but usually it’s not so ‘sneaky’ at all. I often get caught taking photographs of people. But I never get reprimanded, I guess Japanese people are too polite for that. Also, sometimes people are absorbed in a book, playing with their cellphone or taking a nap. So that’s also a great oportunity to take a sneak photograph without them noticing.

Yes, and a lot of perfect-looking girls on the train too! Sometimes they even look like dolls. I also see them doing their make-up on the train, or just staring into a mirror for 20 min., arranging one strand of hair to perfection.
