One sunny afternoon, while walking around Toyota City, I came across this little red IQ.

The IQ is one of Toyota’s smallest models. Of course you will always see plenty of Toyotas at any given time in Japan, since Toyota holds over 40% of the market share. But what drew my attention to this particular IQ, was the mini IQ on the dashboard. An identical copy, down to the colour, of the car itself. I was immediately reminded of the movie Inception, and decided to name this scene IQception.

Also notice the logo, which is different from the Toyota logo we know in Europe. I discovered that in Japan, Toyota uses multiple logo’s. I’m sure it makes perfect sense from a marketing point of view (why else would they do it?) but it confuses the hell out of me. Nobody in Japan seemed to mind it though.

I’ve only ever seen the buffalo logo. The other one looks like an Opel logo turned around. 🙂
It does, now that point it out I see it too 🙂 I tried collecting pictures of all the different Toyota logos when I was in Japan. One day I should go through my pictures to try to find them all and make a post about it.
